Really Stupid Memes

In this section we take a look at the wonderful world of internet memes. These simple pictures are overly popular on various social networks. The down side is while some of them may be funny and at times "informational", the vast majority of them are senseless dribble. Here we are going to post some of the more bullshit of the bunch and explain why the deserve to fade away.

Duck Dynasty is a blight on all mankind. Phil Robertson is one of the lowest of the low. Him and his little posse of want to be hillbillies insult every American whether or not they want to admit it. The whole not being able to speak his mind is a load of shit. The whole issue came about from some views that he expressed that where not in sync with the contract that he had signed with the company A&E. It's kind of funny that the people who back him up tend to be the ones who see the free market as the cure for everything, yet are against companies setting up their own policies. I'm sure for the Robertson clan this all lead to some great promotions and increased viewership for their half witted show. However placing this wolf in camouflage clothing as a crusader for any cause down plays the hard work real activists do.

The condescending Willie Wonka is one that has been used in almost every situation. Sometimes it's funny other times, it becomes like this one. Pseudo-intellectual garbage. What this meme is suffering from is something called a false equivalency. Comparing the job of the President of the United States to that of a fire fighter isn't close to the same ball park. When fire fighters receive a call what they are responding to isn't the mess that other fire fighters left behind but rather emergency situations that don't always have to do with fires. While the message doesn't take whole lot of thought to understand (since the person who made this is clearly a simpleton), it doesn't hold up to any real thought process. The fact reminds that prior to Obama coming into office the former President did start two wars on credit, did not pay any of it back, and left office without leaving behind an exit strategy. To say that fire fighters "inherit" fires is not only using the word out of context, but is the same as comparing apples to oranges.
